Trip from FRANCISCO DE ORELLANA (Coca), Ecuador to St.Clotilde

IQUITOS, PERÚ

 

 

8 DAYS, 7 NIGHTS

The trip from Francisco de Orellana-(Coca), Ecuador to Iquitos, Peru, is a total of 8 days. The first five days we are going to be around the Yasuni National Park in the lagoon of Jatuncocha. After this we will leave on an adventure from Nuevo Rocafuerte heading towards Iquitos, Peru.  We will observe fauna and flora such as giant trees, medical plants, exotic flowers,  monkeys, birds,  caimans,  grey and pink dolphins, piranhas, spiders, and otters. 

 

First day.-

We depart from Puerto Francisco of Orellana (Coca) and take public transportation down the Napo River to Nuevo Rocafuerte traveling for 10 hours.

 

Second day.-

Departing form New Rocafuerte we will navigate the Yasuní River until we get to Yasuni National Park (PNY).  We will camp on the edges of the lagoon of Jatuncocha. 

  •  Visit the lagoon of Jatuncocha
  •  Fishing for piranhas.
  •  Walk by the lagoon where we can observe pink dolphins. 

 

Third day.-

Walk in the forest for approximately 5 hours where we will observe monkeys, birds of different species. In the night we will go out exploring for caimans. 

 

Fourth day.-

Depart from Yasuni National Park (PNY) heading to New Rocafuerte where we will deal with documents, passports to get into Peru. 

·         We Will Visit the Wildlife of the Reserve of Cuyabeno (Cocaya).

·          We will observe gray and pink dolphins. 

·          We Will Camp there for the night and take a nocturnal walk.

 

Fifth day.-

We will walk for about 3 hours from the lagoon of Cocaya to the Aguarico River. 

  • We will take the Napo River to the community of Cape Pantoja.
  • Then Procede to show our documentation (migration) in order to get into Peru.
  • We Camp in Chingana (native Settlement Quichua)
  • Demonstration of shamanismo (the native magic’s of the local culture)

 

Sixth day.-

Depart from Chingana community heading towards the community of Puerto Elvira. 

  • We will Camp on the beach and get ready for the following day.

 

Seventh day.-

 Depart from Puerto Elvira heading towards the town of Santa Cleotilde where we will lodge in the hotel and rest in order to be ready for the next day. 

 

Eighth day.-

Depart from Mazan for a trip of 5 hours.

  • On motorcycles we will be crossing the Napo – Mazan- Amazon (5 to 10 minutes)
  • Travelling by runner we will navigate the Amazon River until arriving at our final destination of Iquitos, Peru (45 minutes). The hour of approximate arrival is 2- 3 PM
